“Halloween is Spooky, but living with a Spinal Cord Injury Doesn’t have to Be”

Join us on Monday, October 30th at the Central Lions Rec Centre from 5-9pm, for an evening of food, drinks, “spine-chilling” Halloween fun. There will be a showcase of local research data and how this has been used to create initiative within the community. Followed by an opportunity to provide feedback to create actionable changes in the SCI community follow up process in Edmonton! Following the “serious” stuff, we will have an evening of Halloween themed fun, including prizes for the best costume!

Tentative Itinerary:

5pm: Event Begins
5:30-6pm: Appies + Finger Foods + Non-Alcoholic Beverages
6pm: SCI Data Presentation and Overview
6:30: Townhall Discussion
7:30pm-8:30pm : Small Group Activities and Halloween Fun
9pm: Event Ends

Information about the project goals:

We are looking for feedback regarding ways to improve the Alberta Health Services (AHS) community follow-up process for those living with spinal cord injuries (SCIs). Feedback will work towards improving the integration of services, with the goal of achieving the most meaningful community follow-up possible. We want to empower people through self-management and create needed resources to facilitate education for individuals with SCIs as well as healthcare professionals. Please submit your suggestions as to how the process could be streamlined, any suggestions you may have or gaps you have experienced. For more information, please contact kendra.erhardt@sci-ab.ca
